Lucy’s own home, a renovated blacksmith’s cottage in East London, is an embodiment of her design approach. Curated and restored with her husband, fireplaces were uncovered, bricks exposed and floorboards restored.

Their passion for travel is visible throughout the house, not just from their extensive and diverse art and collectibles. The kitchen is the hub of the house, always welcoming and inclusive. Inspired by their travels in Mexico, they used microcement instead of traditional kitchen cupboards, so more plates, bowls and glasses could be grabbed and passed round.
Tadelakt plaster is used in both bathrooms, again creating a sense of easy living and flowing space, not restricted by doors and partitions. The exterior of the house hints at the treasure trove inside. Finished in a terracotta shade by Clayworks, it is a nod to the Mexican architecture of Luis Barragan.
