Project Reveal: Primrose Hill

We are really excited to reveal our Primrose Hill project with you. Set within a three-storey townhouse on Regent's Park Road in North London, our clients approached us after having discovered us via another of our projects. They wanted our help to create something that we don’t get asked for every day - a home that didn’t feel ‘overly interior designed’.

Discover the project

The house had already undergone a structural renovation with local architects Chassay & Last - who opened up the house into a double-height space, added a mezzanine above the kitchen, and installed a striking stone, blackened-steel and glass staircase. The next stage was to make the interiors feel like home.

The use of colour

We ran a thread of blue through the whole house, shifting in tone as it moves between spaces. On the top floor, a deep orangey-red sofa paired with bespoke Nest curtains brings a warm contrast.

Texture and materials

Where colour sets the mood, texture adds warmth. Limewash brings a gently weathered finish to the primary bedroom and bathroom, while beautifully tactile wood, stone and microcement was used throughout the house.

Bespoke furniture and textiles

We worked with long-time collaborator and maker, Adam Blencowe, to create several bespoke pieces of furniture and beautifully original textiles.

A bespoke kitchen island

The bespoke kitchen island was made from Esmeralda quartzite, with a painted wooden base. The island forms the heart of this space, designed to be both beautiful, and used every day.

A bespoke chest of drawers and vanity table - co-designed by Lucy Currell and Adam Blencowe and hand-crafted by Adam.

In the bedroom, a custom chest of drawers was cut on the grain, so that each drawer follows the natural rhythm of the wood.

These are complemented by textiles by Fealt - a collaboration between Adam Blencowe and Lucy Currell. Together, they design and handcraft felted panels, transforming them into wall hangings, rugs, textiles and upholstered furniture.
